Rebecca Thacher - Family Law Division Lead Of The Irving Law Firm

The Irving Law Firm promoted Rebecca Thacher to the position of Family Law Division Lead in October 2023. With a strong focus on family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and more, Rebecca has consistently demonstrated her expertise and dedication in both Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts throughout Northern Virginia. In 2023, she was named the recipient of the 2022 Circuit Court Trial Attorney of the Year Award from the Prince William County Circuit Court, an honor received in recognition of her outstanding courtroom advocacy skills.

Rebecca is an alumnus of George Mason School of Law, graduating in 2009. During her academic journey, she held the esteemed position of President of the Trial Advocacy Association and was honored with the Virginia Trial Lawyers’ Association Student Advocacy Award in the same year. Upon completing her studies, Rebecca embarked on a significant role as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Prince William County. Here, she showcased her prowess in prosecuting criminal matters, particularly focusing on narcotics and violent crimes. Her exceptional trial work did not go unnoticed, earning her the 2014 General District Court Trial Attorney of the Year Award from the Prince William County General District Court.

After dedicating over a decade to the Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Office, Rebecca transitioned to the private sector, channeling her vast experience and skills into family law matters for The Irving Law Firm. Known for her adept trial and negotiation capabilities, Rebecca stands out for her commitment to providing each client with personalized attention and unwavering dedication. As a military spouse, she is both personally and professionally familiar with the needs of our service members and devotes a portion of her practice specifically to serving this specialized community.
