Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
MDS Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry is a three-year postgraduate course that deals with the diagnosis, care, and prevention of diseases affecting teeth, as well as the patient’s overall oral health. It focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of childhood oral diseases from infancy through adolescence.
The goal of this sub-specialty training is to prepare dentists to manage childhood behaviour, dental traumas, perform prevention and simple rehabilitation and conduct long term oral health promotion.
The MDS course in Paedodontics combines clinical work, research, and service to the community so as to provide a well-trained individual who can treat patients with not only skill but also empathy and understanding of child psychology.
