Officially formed in 1998, the Dearing Concert Duo consists of award-winning spinto soprano Abha Dearing and classical guitarist Steven Dearing, both graduates of Wayne State University. Named Outstanding Classical Ensemble by The Detroit Music Awards in 2002 and 2003. Internationally touring artists with performances throughout the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom including the Cheltenham International Music Festival. Specializing in wedding ceremonies and receptions with exceptional versatility in repertoire and programming. Featured on Detroit PBS BackStage Pass and critically acclaimed for their lovely tonal blend, secure phrasing, and intimate musical dialogue. Available for weddings, corporate events, concert performances, universities, churches, art museums, and private events. Combining Western classical and Indian classical vocal traditions with world-class classical guitar accompaniment.
