STROKE is a cerebrovascular medical emergency defined as the sudden onset of neurological deficit resulting from either disruption of cerebral blood flow (ischemic stroke) or intracranial bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke). Clinical manifestations vary depending on the location and extent of brain involvement and may include hemiparesis or hemiplegia (weakness or paralysis on one side), aphasia or dysarthria (speech difficulties), visual disturbances, ataxia (loss of coordination), and sudden severe headache, particularly in hemorrhagic stroke.
