Do not give out personal information such as address, telephone number, your work address/telephone number, the name and location of the school or your workplace, etc.

Do not meet up with people per se, unless it is a transaction, purchase, job interview, etc. If you should meet with anyone, do it in public, use caution and use common sense.

If the post is too good to be true, it probably is.

Do not give your social-security number, date of birth, etc. to anyone.

Watch out for illegal offers, services, advice, etc.

Deal with people locally, and this should help you from being scammed, because you can meet up with them, if needed.

Do not give money to anyone on the internet via mail, electronic, etc.

Do not give your back account information, credit card information, or any other financial or personal information to others.

Do not deal with any posting outside of your local area.
